Mission and History

Our Mission

To collect, preserve, interpret, inform and celebrate African history, culture and community and to educate the public about the African diaspora and linkages to African Americans, Afro Latinos, and Caribbean’s.

The African Cultural Centre of Los Angeles (ACCLA) will be a city-wide leader in generating historical and cultural content through programs, artistic performances and curated exhibits.

It will highlight the contributions and achievements of Africans to the region.

To create an opportunity for those who would love to learn more about African culture, and to explore and revel in its history.  To reiterate the important role of the African diaspora culture and history is to our City. To build partnerships with African American and Latino historic sites and cultural centers.
